Popular Books That Don't Interest Me

While I have discovered a lot of recommendations from BookTube and book blogs, there are some books that do not interest me.

1. The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey

I've heard that this series progressively gets worse and though some would say I should discover this for myself, the plot doesn't grab me. So I have no future plans to read this series.

2. The Maze Runner Series by James Dashner

I saw the first movie with a friend and we both loved it. We were curious about the books so we did a bit of "research" and spoiled ourselves for the rest of the movies haha. But what we found was so confusing so I decided that I wouldn't bother reading the books and continue with the movies. Whispers: "Plus Dylan O'Brien is super cute".

3. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

There is a bit of a theme starting here. So I had heard this movie was really sad but good. Typically I don't like to watch sad movies or read sad books. I read to escape, so I like feel good books or fantasies. But I decided to give the movie a try because I liked the actors. To my surprise I really did enjoy it. However having said that, I don't really see the need to read the book. Sorry.

4. Lux Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout

I know everyone loves the Lux series but I just can't get past the covers. Superficial I know, don't kill me. I didn't mind the first round of covers but these new ones... just not my thing. It's not something I want to spend my money on.

5. Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson

The premise of this book does not engage me. From what I can gather this girl's best friend disappears and she leaves behind a list of things for her to do. I think this concept would interest me more if it was a mystery but my understanding is she just does the things on the list. If I was in her situation I would go searching for my friend then do the list together. If this does happen let me know and I may consider it but for now. NOPE.

6. The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin

This sounds so terrifying to me. I think I've mentioned that I hate scary stories/movies, the cover creeps me out and synopsis gives me goosebumps. So NO.

7. The to All the Boys I've Loved Before Trilogy by Jenny Han

First off these covers are absolutely gorgeous and usually that would be enough for me to want to read a book. However I think that this story line could have been completed in 1 or 2 books. I won't say that I'll never read this series but for now I'm going to pass. If you are interested here is a link for book depository, they have all 3 books in a hardcover box set.
